Norton 360

02/14/2011 10:03 AM

Has anyone downloaded Norton 360 lately? I did and it mess up my computer real bad. Every time and turn on the PC, the Norton window shows up and says that it is installing...but it never finishes! and at the end another black window comes up with an error message that says that Norton did not installed correctly and to contact the technical support. When I pick the "Technical support" blinking text the name and picture of a person, supposely the technical helper shows up. When I type my question nothing happens, the person does not unswer. If someone has had this same problem, I would appreciate an insite.

Thanks

Well if you legally downloaded this software from Symantec you should contact the Symantec support line. If you did not pay for this program, too bad.

I stopped using Norton a few years ago. Their product seemed to slow down my system immensely. It's a shame because I had been a loyal customer for over 10 years. They may well be the best product out there and keep my computer safe from the evil on the net, but it's not much better than just leaving the computer disconnected from the internet.

Over time I have become too suspicious of the big players the the computer security sector. I have unproven suspicions they are somehow working in conjunction with the malware/virus creators so their corporations and products stay relevant.

That's what I am affraid of. My sister downloaded the same version on her computer and the same thing happened. I e-mailed Norton asking them if their program was a scam but so far I have not had an asnwer. I will call them again to see if they will refund my money...which I may not be so lucky! My commputer is so messed up right now that I can hardly do anything! Thanks for your input.

No idea. That's what Wikipedia thinks a telephone looks like.
