Pneumatic Actuator

I recently came across a term "Load cell for pneumatic actuator" in a tender document. Please provide a clue about this.

It could be referring to the load cell that is measuring how much pressure a pneumatic cylinder is applying to whatever it is pushing against.

I built a machine that would push an 8" dia steel drum against the bottom of a car tire which was mounted on this machine. It was simulating the weight of the car on the tire. I used a piezoelectric load cell to monitor the pressure being applied.

Commonly used in robotics for impedence control of pneumatic actuators. Here's an article.
