02/18/2011 11:11 AM

Delaval has a strange set up for balancing thrust and I am wondering if there is an upgrade to this design?

No idea, my experience with Delaval is with cow milking machinery.

Can you elaborate on your question please?

I believe OP is asking about a de Laval nozzle, or the hourglass shape that defines a nozzle. Rocket motor and steam turbine are common applications.

But as you say we are still in the dark about the real question.
