Real Time Visual & Controls RC Plane & Helicopter Toys with Real Gun Power

02/25/2011 8:10 AM

I was just thinking what if real guns & ammunition are to be installed on RC helicopters, tanks, ships & fighter planes and there be teams to play war games, the controls and monitors these toys are to be pc inter-phased(like real flight simulation). That would be cool...like war in the small world.

I would quickly go broke replacing my my shot up toys every hour. It would be fun though. Could be a little dangerous too. I could imagine the police quickly putting an end to our fun.

Dude, if the media or an big time organization has to make it legal, that's cool probably. Battlefields are to be set far from the population like, deserts terrain-like that. And make it something like gambling stuff, thousands of dollars to destroy enemy toy. Huhh-that should be fun to build one at your own guts and wit.

Given that all weapons are to be constructed at smaller scale, that will be a good engineering challenge, a new frontier, that is.

But, yah right. It could be really a dangerous terrorist stuff.

As far as I know this is the closest. Projectiles would definitely be a cool twist.

Although I generally think you are an intelligent person, that is NOT a good idea.

There are already too many wackos out there(including my guest stalker).

Check this out. www.aircombatusa.com I've done this, it's a total blast and nobody gets hurt.

I think that's a member. I tried to get him to reveal the thread where you pissed him off, the other day, but admin deleted his post and redirected my post as a response to yours............whatever. At least you know that people are thinking of you.

This website you just posted is cool, but it would be a lot cooler to think if you driving and operating a remote controlled and armed tank on the screen of your PC, with communication, radar, weapons ready to fire against hunted enemy tanks. right?Just like they did in Mars rover exploration-it is a lot of fun and thrill.

If they make a movie about this in hollywood, i bet this would be a hit.

They have made a movie like this. I can't remember its name but it involved some people from our time going to the Earth of the future. They encounterd large war robots going around the cities destroying everything in an attempt to "kill" each other. On this Earth there appeared to be no people just these two robots destroying everything.

They eventually stumbled upon a boy at a video console controlling one of the robots. They correctly assumed that there must be someone else controlling the other robot. There was! It was a girl named Eve. and yes the boy was named Adam.

Huge success? i think not.

So video games are not good enough you need real damage. Something that don't walk away. What if these are used on people? What a can of worms we would be opening up. Maybe some would get tired of shooting down each others planes and start into each other. What better way to win then to distract the other players at their controls. Or the someone that gets tired of loosing and want revenge.

Then instead of drive by shootings we get fly by.

Hit men that don't have the limitation of the weapons range but the remote control.

The Military already has them they call them drones. What you want is to have everyone be able to have one. Society Is full of nut cases. How do you plan on doing this with out causing harm.

If this sort of thing were available to me as a ten year old kid, then my brothers, the dog, the ceiling fixtures, mom's beloved doll collection... would all be fair game!

This behavior on my part would have been smote swiftly and surely, the hand (or sometimes the belt) of dad being the deliverer.

But, it would have been fun while it lasted!

You're funny you know. But, with this kind of toys, these are typically not for 7-15 year old fanatics. This is good only for Big boys.

Re: Real Time Visual & Controls RC Plane & Helicopter Toys with Real Gun Power

Well, there are many ways to think of having this to be real

These kind of toys should be

1) Licensed and owner or operator should have license also

2) Any illegal possession of such are to be punishable by law

3) These kinds of toys are to be made with controller or limiter, a removable chip 1 (one) for maximum distance coverage(boundary limiter) & (1) for weapon fire enabling system - this control chips are to be a property/provided of the gaming body & also with ammunition, with out those chips, these toys may be functional but within a minimal range(as a default) relative to the controller/operator. The communication protocols from controlled unit to controller must be unique and a property of the gaming body or could be the manufacturer itself. This is to avoid any replication and interference/breach control from any other nut fella.

Well, this is so good if it will be a game between undergraduate team of engineers from different universities. At first phase different versions & technologies could be integrated to such toy design.

Ohh, I like that. That would be fun.

Just to play the devils advocate, the rules you have just outlined have worked so well to keep automatic weapons out of the hands of gangs so far....right?

Let's start with a velocity limited (300 ft/sec) basic paintball gun onboard. Mount it on a hex rotor microcopter . I've seen one of these that could carry and maneuver with a 2 pound payload in addition to its own propulsion battery and video camera. Close air support for painball gamers. I doubt if I'm the first to suggest this let alone build and test real hardware. A paintball gun with a decent magazine load could work off a small CO2 cartridge and come in at under 2 pounds soaking wet.

An expansion of paintball combat is exactly what I was thinking when I first read the topic, also.

Would be a great tool for teaching troops (or others that maybe interested) about battlefield tactics when there are the typical combat support vehicles (air or ground) involved.

I could see mechanized paint ball battles being a blast for us civilians too.

But would the 300ft/sec projectile enough to hit say a dogfight between rc planes, considering a relatively moving frame of reference ? I guess, perhaps at 2 to 3 meters range. That would be awesome

If you want to "play" with these types of toys...just go visit your local armed forces recruiter. Thay have all that "neat" stuff and can train you in how to use it!

My daughter (Captain in the US ARMY) told me how cool the tank simulators are!

If trying to kludge a paintball gun onto an R/C aircraft, you need to consider a few things. 1) These things weigh a lot (relatively speaking). Weight and balance is critical. If not correct the craft won't take off at best and at worst will careen uncontrolably from the sky. 2) Paintballs are relatively massive. Unless the axis of the barrel passes through the craft's center of mass, the reaction will cause the ceaft to yaw or spin and careen uncontrolably from the sky. Either way, a lot of time/energy/money spent for a few seconds of "Wow that's cool". Try an R/C fire boat with a working pump and take it to the town fishing derby. "You call that a fish? Eat water, punk!"
