Gap Inbetween Metal And Lining.

Hallow,

I am working in R&D Department. I am working to developed PTFE (Teflon) lined equal tee.During trials, I found the gap inbetween metal and PTFE after sintering.Can anybody tell me how it will remove.

Metal body material "Carbon steel".

Lining thk. 3mm.

Since sintered PTFE can conform to very fine details, perhaps your internal surface of the steel is too smooth, and you would benefit from a more porous surface that the PTFE can bond to. This would require granules that are smaller than the inclusions, but it might give it something to grip that may help the effects of shrinkage that you seen to be experiencing.

Or perhaps the inside of the steel could be broached with many very fine dovetail shapes that would help give the PTFE something to grip.

Just some guesses.
