Shaft Voltage Measurement

Is shaft voltage measurement test applicable for horizontal motors only?

Are impulse test & surge withstands tests are applicable for HT motors?

I am not talking on behalf of any standard but if in my application motor is mounted vertical ,I ll check it for vertical first regardless of what standard say.
