Language Problem

dear sir,

i don't know whether it is a right place to ask this question. if not kindly ignore this. i'm having some documents in Chinese language(pdf format) since one of our contractor from china.i want to translate it to English. then only i can read. i don't know Chinese. please help me and give suggestions.

I doubt that there is any one best answer to this, but it is a good question for the CR4 forum. Here are some possible approaches:

1. The original contractor from China may already have the information in some other languages, so you could simply ask. However, their translation might not be very clear.

2. If you have a nearby translation service available, you could engage them for a fee. (They would need to have technical experience, though.)

3. If you are near a university that hosts engineering students from China, you might be able to do a similar but less formal arrangement.

4. Learning Chinese might not be practical in the short term, or for only a few business deals, but there could be long-term opportunities in this.

There are freelancers and service providers available for this kind of works, Try it google or you can post your requirements on Chinese trade sites,

The WTO should stipulate that manufacturers/suppliers should print technical literature/operation manuals/drawings etc in a language(s)understood in a country which imports it. The customs should refuse permission if technical literature is not printed in a language understood by users.
