Skype Deleted

Hi,

When i try to download Skype tool from their website, My Mcafee antivirus immediately deletes the setup once it is downloaded. I dont know why it happens. I am doing this in my office laptop while I stay at home. Is there any tricks to block like this peer-peer software to be deleted by mcafee , like a rule in mcafee created by my office IS team.

I don't know if this will work, but I have downloaded several programs that require me to disable my antivirus programs before downloading for them to work. Sometimes I also have to disable windows firewall also.

As far as having to disable antivirus and firewall, it's true. I have several legitimate programs that these will interfere with. It's not a big deal..........just go directly to the site, download, go off line and install. Once installation is complete, re-enable antivirus and firewall.

I would only do this with sites that I know are legitimate. One of them was Kodak, I had to disable to successfully download and install the software for my camera.

Skype is pretty well known.

Are you asking for a work around to defeat your IS team? I won't want Skype in there for lot's of reasons; it's very invasive.
