This is the case with everything these days. Schematics and shop manuals to help us fix the things we own are becoming a for profit business...........if you can find them at all.

I don't know how much help this will be, but if there is an authorized service center near you, you may be able to sweet talk them into running you off a copy of the service manual, which would include schematics.

I used to do this all of the time with success, but that was before the internet.

You can check sites such as bit torrent. The legality of downloads may be questionable, however, in my mind, selling us expensive equipment, and then attempting to force us to use a service center for repairs by not making the information we need to fix them available, should also be illegal.

I had a simular problem a couple of years ago, not sure what it was but i think i was to do with the relays (contactors) I think that I checked for contacts that were heating excessivly, then cleaned the contacts and all was fine

Cheers

Been a long while since I worked on them. When the key is turned on does the main contactor engage? Also what motion controller is in it? Also you mention it running away in reverse. There maybe problem with the high speed contactor. After the speed of the vehicle exceeds the top limits of the control a bypass contactor closes and full battery voltage is applied to the drive motor. If this contactor is again stuck close the control may sense this and shut down. Many of the controllers have shut down features if it senses malfunctions with in the system.

May have wiring diagrams for just the controller depending on type. Generally the wiring for fork lifts was the same depending on type of controller. May take a few days to find it been 20 yrs + since I had any need for them.

I do know that Flight Systems has the best source for the old manuals. They do controller repairs. http://www.fsip.biz/
