About ADC0804

Dear sir, I tested analog to digital converter ADC 0804 (IC) by giving input from Vcc of that same IC in free running mode(Test Mode) then i got digital output, after that i given input directly from bridge rectifier( by varying from 0 to 5V) then it is not giving output. why it is so,how to solve this problem?please tell me and help me. thanking you sir

Is that bridge rectifier making an independent supply? if that is the case have you wired ground of rectifier with circuit ground? And what are the values of voltages on on ref pins?

yes, rectifier is independent of supply,but its grounded,vref(pin 9 not connected to get max supply), Vcc-5V and right i know connected 4.7v zener diode at Vin(pin 6) but it was burnt.please help me thanking you sir.

It would appear that you have overloaded the ADC's input. It operates off of 5 volts DC, you mentioned that you had a 4.7 volt zener on the input pin which was 'burnt'. The problem is that you applied 5 volts AC which has a peak voltage of 5*1.414 or 7.071 volts to the input, when the zener blew, so did your ADC's input. Check the specifications as to how high the input voltage can be. To be on the safe side, I would use a variable 0-5 VDC source for testing.
