Designing a Frequency Meter

04/07/2007 7:22 AM

Hi Engineering world

I'm working on a project that I have to design a frequencymeter that can provide me a frequency between 1 and 5Hz.

Anyone is welcome for my help.

Regards

Is this to measure 1 to 5 Hz frequency or to generate it?

Also what accuracy do you need as well as display analogue or digital??

What is the signal required to be generated or measured? is it large or small voltage, sine, square, or pulse?

and so on... John.

Yes man I'm talking about frequency generator that can generate me a frequency between 1 and 5Hz(variable).I need a square wave in digital logic.

You can generate pulse waves not square waves with the 555.

You can get a 50 percent duty cycle, if that's important: see

Yes but it is still only pos going pulses. 555 can not on it own give true rms square wave out.
