why we prefer buttress threading on pipe joint in oil industry rather than other types?
Is this really true? It is the first time I have ever heard of this thread form for pipe threads.
Because it is very strong in axial loading and seals well against fluids. Think drill stem.
That makes sense. Too bad we have so many OPs that don't really tell fully what they are trying to do....
I keep looking for the answer to the FAQ that says, "make 'em guess".
