Aluminum Smelter Dimension

Dear friends

I know that for some technological reasons, an aluminium smelter can't be smaller than some certain seize.

What is the minimum seize and capacity for such a smelter?

How much electric power will it require, and what will be its production per day?

First, are we talking about a smelter that turns bauxite ore into aluminum?

Or are we talking about an aluminum re-melting facility?

Then I'd suggest contacting: Smelting - International Aluminium Institute and asking them for some literature.
