1. Bottom plates shall not be located on the sides or tops of tanks.
2. Bottom plates shall be flat unless the tank foundation surface is crooked.
3. Bottom plates be of compatible p-group material for welding to side plates.
4. Bottom plate dimensions shall be at least equal to those of the footprint of side plates resting thereon.
5. I hope I didn't forget anything.

A plate at the bottom of the side of the tank, could that be defined as a bottom plate?
