Transformers Installation Indoor

04/07/2011 5:44 AM

Like to know any specific standards are there ( In India) for installation of oil filled transformers indoor.

What are the main areas that need to be addressed for this purpose like temperature rise , fire risk etc.

Thanks in advance

Vide Indian Electricity Rules, 1956, Rule No. 64 (2) (e) (iv) - only dry type transformers should be used for installations inside residential/commercial buildings. Or if you talk of industrial buildings, then you may please refer to IE Rule No. 64 (2) (f)and its sub-clauses.
