Dear friend,

Your thread is not clear. Power black out can happen because of many reasons. It can be because of insufficient generation, bad distribution system or even poor maintenance. Power distribution of a country depends on the size of the country, total power generation capacity, energy consumption pattern, production capacity and load. So with out proper data no good answer can be given . so elaborate your thread if you really want a proper answer.

Thanks,I would like my answer to be restricted to insufficient generation and a well populated country like Nigeria.

There are two trends in reducing blackouts:

  1. Increase supply per capita.
  2. Reduce demand per capita.
