Normally neutral of a trf is connected to earth. When the earth is not working properly or the neutral to earth cable is get disconnected then the star point may be shifted in vector form due to unbalance load in different phases. This shifting cause more & unbalance phase to neutral voltage which may damage insulation of equipments and also cause hazard for human.
