04/14/2011 11:26 PM

Dear All

Our team is going to install Double effect evaporator to evaporate high TDS RO reject water, for this dry steam required 250kg/hr at 6 Kg /cm2 pressure.

For this steam line can we use MS pipe of 40NB A 106 GR.B.SCH 40 or need to change any other pipe. pl suggest if any one have exposer on this.

Thanks&regards,

M.Ayyavaru.

6 kg/cm2 ≈ 85 psi, which is not very high. A106-B is suitable material for the temperature, and Sch 40 can handle this pressure. However, you may need to consider 1) corrosion allowance, 2) possible effects of liquid hammer, and 3) local piping code requirements. This may require Sch 80; I don't know.

Sorry for the incomplete answer, but these are some things to bear in mind.
