A pressure transmitter sends a continuous range of signal, such as 4-20ma or 1-5v; or possibly a digital signal covering a virtually continuous range (such as 0-32,767).

A pressure switch transmits only On or Off.

Adding to Tornado, a pressure switch is for an interlock function to activate starting or stopping some thing at a particular minimum or maximum pressure.
