By eliminating capacitors an inductors and using resistors as prime movers.

If there are "inductive horses" in your installtion, trying to escape from the 'stable' - then put "capacitive horses" on the otehr side of the 'stable' so that the 'stable' is stable.

When the load side has varying inductance and the power factor is not stable, automatic power-factor capacitors are called for. These commonly employ capacitor-banks with contactors and current inrush-limiting inductors, etc., but if that's too slow or wear is a concern, thyristor-switched systems are available, such as ABB's Dynacomp. You can see large capacitors (grey, bottom) and three-phase inrush-preventing inductors (brown varnished paper) showing in the window.

They give an example of a large hard-working dockside overhead crane with rapidly-varying loads, where adding their system to stabilize the crane's reactive power factor dramatically reduced the electricity costs.

Don't change anything.
