Testing Current and Voltage Sensors

04/11/2007 3:31 AM

Dear Sir,

I am a research scholar at MNIT (Electrical Engineering Department ) Jaipur India

We purchased the current sensor& voltage sensor for ac drive control . The

code no of these are as

Current Sensor LA 55-P

Voltage Sensor LV-100-1000

I want to test these items first , I have following questions?

1) What is the step wise procedure to test it

2) What will be the nature of out wave forms (i.e. current & voltage ) for both when the input. is AC or DC

3) Please give the sample wave form to for reference

4) The nature of wave form for resistive load (i.e. primary current) or inductive load is same or different. if different why ?

I fear that you use the term "scholar" too loosely. Specifications for sensors may or may not be found by searching the internet with model numbers only, but I'm not even going to try. Give manufacturer's name, and you may get some help.

Current Sensor (LEM) LA 55-P

Voltage Sensor (LEM) LV-100-1000

Search google: measuring current with hall effect transducer

Search google: measuring voltage with hall effect transducer

See: http://www.lem.com.cn/images/tech_pdf/Short_Form_Catalog_2004.pdf for a good deal of general info on thier use.

It is valuable to do the research yourself and find your own answers. They are easily obtained.

A quick google search instantly identifies these as LEM products - their technical support personnel can answer all your questions.

The firm should supply Application Note for such assemblies & a brief description & some tech tips may include such as "Applications"
