What kind of grease should I use to lubricate muffler bearings?

elbow grease. make sure you check the headlight fluid, as they are on the same maintenance periodicity.

The muffler grease zerk can be found under the 710 cap.

It should look something like this. Identification is easy; look for the '710'.

No, I need the one that's underneath the car, where the muffler is. Not the 710 thingy on top.

I found some doo dads on the wheels that look like grease fittings, but none of them will take grease, and I don't know why every wheel would need one since they are for the exhaust.

Car doesn't stop so good now.

Din'nt anyone ever tell you that greasing the breaks makes the car go faster, and faster, and faster...?

Or was that further?

Oops. Sorry, the 710 cap gives access to the zerk for the Kneutson valve.

The grease point for the muffler bearing should be near the 'O' pipe, usually in the center of the 'O'. These images for single or dual exhaust:

This in lieu of the Y pipe, X pipe, or H pipe. It provides 100% back pressure feedback. With the 'O' pipe, torque increase and Kuneutson valve float brings in much lower revs so you don't hurt your engine.

Kneutson's require ball-bearing grease.

The site lyn has proposed will certainly lubricate the muffler stiffener rod, but what you need for muffler bearings has been outlawed in the US as it too closely resembled snake oil administered to blondes who frequented garages saying "my car sounds like gazittedood, gazittedood, gazittedood".
