For one car or 1,000? Will tge GI pipes be used as support for the structure?

Please give us a little hint about the project, we don't read minds.

Thank you for ur reply.

The length of car park 30m with size of span 5m, width is 5.5+5.5=11m two side parking.

GI pipes is supporting the structure.

I do not perform free, long distance engineering consultation, even in areas where I have the credentials. I assume that wherever you are there are no building codes or restrictions. And no pesky insurance company that might want the structure to be built so that it doesn't fall down and kill people.

Civil engineering can't be assimilated via e-mail. You need an education in the field, or in at least some engineering field.

I can tell you that you can find plenty of material property web sites that can provide information on material strengths and properties. Matweb, is one that is very good. (Not an endorsement) So find it, open it and use it.

And finally, e-mail addresses are not published here. There is Private Mail that members can use, if they would bother to read the FAQ's.

Good luck.

You need a Structural Engineer for this. You need wind load calculations performed (maybe seismic too) based on your geography (can you remember Haiti, New Zealand, and Japan?) and if you are not going with pre-engineered trusses, you need truss calcs.

BTW, does anyone know what the heck a "GI pipe" is? In my 34 years of being an engineer I've never run into the term before. I guess it must be a local abbreviation or term?

There are prefabricated arch type car parks....some feature steel, aluminum, or fiberglass arch frames on which a cloth or plastic sheet is shretched across the series frames. Some others feature steel or aluminum frames and membranes. All frame bases need to be anchored to he concrete slab.

You can find them by either performing a Google search or browsing though Ebay.com.

Why re-invent the wheel when someone already has done it for you, and is most likely available in kit form at a cheaper cost then building it yourself (unless you have access to a huge scrap metal heap and/or free materials)?

Also, you can avoid the building codes and the inspector because such structures are considered "temporary structures".....when you move you can pull it up, box it, and bring it with you to your new abode. One of my neighbors has one that can store his huge RV that's got to be at last 35' long! It's a monster!!!!

Perhaps you should re-read some of the comments you have already received.
