What is the correct BS 88 abbreviation for Drawing? I need to know I'm drawing a plan..

should I write it in just as Dwg or should I use all capital letters DWG?

It may depend on the style preferences of wherever you submit it. Hand-lettered drawings often still use all-caps (such as DWG. 176, SHT.3). If mixed caps/noncaps, Dwg. is good. If it is a filename extension on a CAD drawing, it most usually is .dwg.

It is good and standard practice for lettering on drawings to be all capital letters, with no period used.

Abbreviations which can be used on drawings

This is a comprehensive list of abbreviations. I found it within 1 minute of beginning the search. Hint, Hint!

If you bother to open it and search some, you will see that it is DWG.
