High temperature coating/linings

04/12/2007 7:31 AM

Am looking for any leads for companies having a very high temperature coating or lining material to be applied over our metal substrate. It must reach to temperatures up to 2000F for a 4 hour burn test. The coatings/linings is protecting a concrete structure, however the material is applied to our substrate.

I would recommend 840-m HiE-Coat from Aremco

http://www.aremco.com/PDFs/A5_07.pdf

I found the company by doing a search on Globalspec for industrial coatings and then filtering the result by operating temperature in the advanced filter on the left.

Our neighboor produce special firebrick, which can be used for iron mill etc. all sorts of shapes. They supply europe and america etc for many years.

I happened to know the factory when I was asked to test their inspection equipment 4 years ago.

Its the first time I saw various shapes firebrick. originally, I know only rectangle firebrick. but when I went into their workshop, I wonderful found there are lots of shapes objects. Long, round, empty, cylindar etc... I was told they are suit to different spots.

so if you need you can tell me the shape, size and quatity...

beside this firebrick I also went to some ceramic factory which can be usef for high voltage insulation and of cause high temperature, some of them use for super hard material etc. very interesting.

I know these because they all need inspecting for their quality control.

We manufacture a product call Pyrocrete 241 which protect steel structure up to 4 hours in a petrochemical fire situation. We have UL 1709 desing for steel but not for concrete. P-241 can be applied over concrete and will protect your concrete structure. Give me a call if you have an interest in the product; we will see if it can work.

Most any Refractory company can supply and apply a gunite (sprayed on) refractory that can do this. Note: The refractory coating may have to be cured via a controlled heat up and various hold times and temperatures. The concrete may have to be cleaned or sandblasted to have the bite to hold the gunite.
