Electrically Propelled Vehicle

I would like to know what kind of motor does these electrically propelled vehicles use could it be an induction motor by chance, d.c shunt or d.c series? I'm thinking d.c series.thanks...

Mostly DC Permanent Magnet, some AC induction. Nobody wants to deal with brushes.

That explains these antique forklifts we have in the fish plant where I work. We could use the electrical equivalent of the Fuller Brush Man!
