Shared Drives

06/03/2011 4:52 PM

Would anyone happen to know of any programs which would tell me that one of my shared drives is currently in use? This is so I would know whether turning my computer off, which contains the shared drives, would influence other users on my network. Has anyone any experience with any such programs, or even if they exist?

You don't say what O.S. you are using. In WinXP: Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Shared Folders you will see that one of the columns is "#Client Connections".

If you leave it on that page, just remember to do an "Actions>Refresh", before you shut the computer off.
