Uncertainty and Tolerance

06/16/2011 4:35 AM

Hello all,

If I have a temperature sensor (say Pt100 class A according to EN 60751) with a tolerance of ±0.35oC @ 100oC can the accuracy (uncertainty) be less than the tolerance at this temperature ?

Accuracy and tolerance are 2 ways of saying the same thing. Some units will be much better than the tolerance but should only be relied upon to the stated accuracy (tolerance).
