Impact Load, En 19 Shaft, Through Hardened, Case Hardened

We wanted to compare impact load in jule for En19 bar for

Through hardned (50 HRC) vs case hardened (550 HV - nitriding).

and what should be the hardness of bar before nitriding

Look for the hardness in the standard in normalised condition (usually) or Hardened and tempered condition

Did you consider EN40B or EN41 too (they are good nitriding alloys with quite high core strength)
