What Ever Happen To the Funny Guy?

Why wouldn't you want your name or company associated with this forum? I think there's a lot of great info to be found here. I'm here everyday, too (well, I live here, in the cr4wlspace) for just that reason.

Like many of the LTU's (Long Term User) here, it comes back to time and inclination.

Sometimes we don't have the time to do more than quickly scan and move on. More often than not the inclination to not get involved with the denizens from the subcontinent and their flame wars, is to blame.

CR4 is an awesome resource provided by Globalspec, they are the ones that pay the bills so it's basically their bat and ball.

There have been a number of LTU's that have given it away, due to being continually harassed, or perhaps fed up with inane questions being posted or that their responses are met with derision. Many is the time I've countered an unfair off topic vote, obviously done as retribution for some other incident.

The mods on this forum do an intrinsically splendid job considering what CR4 is.

Yes it's sad that people give it away, and I do look forward to the "friendly" banter between some of the more acerbic LTU's but in the end we are all individuals who only have so much time to "waste' on the interweb.

Perhaps all that's needed is an unsolicited PM to the ones who seem dormant to remind them that CR4 is still here and is missing their input.

Hmm tried to pm peterg7lyq, got a weird response about mailbox disabled. He's a guy that tries to help everyone even the hopeless...Also copped a lot of nasty stick too...shame not to see him around.

Well kinda know who you 're refering to. Have nearly eaten each other's moustache a couple of times too, because of his behavior. But look at it this way: When you get five figure posts on a forum it's not too strange to feel as you own it in a way, so you alow yourself a bit more than you should. Something like: "Who are you to come in my forum and not pay your respects, bother us (me) with dum questions, shout, demand free solutions to your business problems etc. After all I do the searches you should be doing yourself, and I see no worship back, and above all you anonymous poster, or overunity preacher, or naive 'inventor', or outside the box thinker etc." Well I get angry with some of that myself and I don't spend my life in front of a screen and a keybord. Age has to do with tolerance also. Dealing with too many personalities can make things worse. OK now. Let's self-moderate and go on. Do you think it's easy to get a forum with this quality level of participants (exeptions of course apply) from all over the world? Let's keep it this way. S.M.
