Central Vacuum System

Central Vacuum system

I need to design a Central Vacuum System. Right now we have 6 vacuum pumps connected direct to 6 reactors 1/1

I won't to connect the pumps to one container so that the pumps will work as necessary, according to the pressure needed.

The working pressure is 200 mbar absolute.

How do I design the system to hold the pressure in each reactor?

Every reactor can be connected to the vacuum system any time.

Do I need check-valves?

We use the reactors to concentrate sugar syrup.

You need non return valves so the applied vacuum opens the valve but when this is removed the contained vacuum holds the valve shut.

You need to install pneumatically actuated ball valves at six different locations / end user point of the vacuum & each valve will be actuated / switched on or off as per the demand of vacuum requirement & a common header to be connected with vacuum receiver & pump at one end .

Thanks for your comment.

We need to operate some reactors simultaneously, one reactor is on vacuum and the syrup is boiling, vapor is vacuumed - and an other reactor will be connected to the system to vacuum in some sugar, without braking the vacuum in the first reactor, and so on.....

You will also have need to isolate any one reactor from the manifold in order to drain the concentrated product.

When you add sugar by vacuum or thin syrup for concentration you will have to be isolated from the manifold and possibly connected to only one vacuum pump.

You will need to provide some safe guard to prevent an operator from applying vacuum too quickly to any vessel. You could spew the vessel contents or, break your pump.
