What are they made of? Any hardness numbers?

Pellet rollers are basically food industry machines....useful only if you are making pellets for something like dogfood.

Due to the fundamental nature of thier action, they are subject to wear if not perfectly aligned or if an abrasive material ( ohh...say coal dust) is attempeted to be pelletized.

Since you bought you machinery from a sleazeball used-equipment broker and since you did no alignment and have no records, what exactly did you expect ?

What is the nature of the material being pelletized ? Is it abrasive ?

Do the machines fail because of your neglect of alignment or are you running an abrasive slurry through them ?

First let me know how much do they wear out I mean is it in microns or mm. And also the materials specs with its hardness.

Later then I can suggest something probably.

Castolin makes special hot spray hard wearing atomized alloy powders that can be sprayed on undersized parts to reclaim.

What about machining the rollers further undersize, then sleeving them with a hardened or surface hardened tube up to the original size, then as they wear undersize you simply replace the sleeve, and the hardened sleeves should last longer anyway - obviously the sleeves, at their maximum wear point must still be thick enough to retain structural integrity.

There are many types of roll shells that are designed for different applications.

check out our website www.jacobscorp.com

Roll Shells

Give us a call or email with your pelleting parameters and we can find the best setup to give you the lowest cost per ton. IT is all we do, engineer wear parts to be the best.
