Not really. During part of a cycle it absorbs energy, but then releases the energy in the next part of a cycle. In effect it corrects the total voltage and current to be more nearly in phase with each other, thereby increasing the power factor (conventionally denoted as cos φ, where φ is the phase angle between the voltage and current sine waves).

Agreed; excepts Tan delta losses.

With due regards, I really feel that at the moment (based on your previous posts) you are trying to do something that is not exactly your field.

I would suggest that you get a qualified electrical engineer.

Working with electricity is not only dangerous but also you may wosen the situation rather than improving it.

How many more times are you going to resurrect this subject? Twice in one day is over doing it!

Get an engineer in that knows that he's doing!

Use your favorite search engine and look up "capacitor parasitic losses"

Yes, it does, but only to the extent of its ESR ( equivalent series resistance ). This is extremely low value & lower the value better is the capacitor in terms of pf improvement. Value varies from rating & brand.

Thanks and regards
