*.CFS File Extension

07/09/2011 1:15 AM

Hi there,

I have the *.CFS files which is backup the songs tracks from Roland VS2480 Recording machine. The song back ups are in *.CFS files which says ISO9660. I want to import this file either Cubase 5 or wave files so that I can use those tracks. Could anyone help me please? I thank you in advance.

Is there any application which can convert those .CFS format to music tracks to .waves?

The reference to ISO9660 / backups suggests that out of the various applications .CFS is used for the correct one in this case is "Compact File Set", an open-source archive.

A number of archive programmes should open .cfs files and first I'd try using whatever archive programmes you currently have. The software author's site, http://www.pismotechnic.com, has a couple of relevant applications of which your best bet is probably the Pismo File Mount Audit Package. As a last resort you can contact the .cfs developers at support@pismotechnic.com for a list of applicable software.

Good luck,

Evan

These may also be raw CD tracks. If so, they should be the same size as a wave file with a similar sample rate and length. A typical 2.5min wave is 50MB

Re: *.CFS file to *.wave converter

Thanks Evan,

I tried with http://www.pismotechnic.com but it does not work. Well I can burn CD/DVD and copy *CFS files to computer but cannot convert it in to *.wave.

I need it to convert/extract *.CFS in to *. wave so that I can use with other musical software.

Do any one have any Idea?

Yes, the files are raw music data as *.CFS. But I think it is compressed size so I need it uncompress but it does not work with other Unzip or such software. I've tried many of them.

Thanking in advance.

Guvea.
