A career in Automation is the best choice one can make in today's Industry. It is intellectual and Smart. Yu should not confine yourself with making the programs but should be able to write your own logic (Mathematical Models for applications). Writing a progam is easy but developing the appropriate logic according to the process is challenging. Recently i developed a Auto Program for running Boilers in Fully Auto Mode and was rewarded by th employer. Also, one has to extend his kowledge in Networks, Instrumentation and process to be a scusseful Automation Engineer.

All the very Best. Banglore is a good choice.

There is always a need for more people in automation. Labor is the most expensive cost of manufacturing and automation lowers that cost, while improving both production speed as well as quality. You would be even better rewarded if you can add a degree in something like Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. It will help you to understand more than just the programming. Remember that the more knowledge you have the more you can offer. The more you can offer the more you will be in demand. The more in demand you are, the more you will be paid. It is that simple.

Good luck and welcome to the rest of your life.
