Is there any depth requirement for a confined space entry permit?

Per OSHA 1910.146(b), a permit is required if the space "Is large enough and so configured that an employee can bodily enter and perform assigned work." So, if you can get yourself into the space, that would meet the depth requirement.

Something sticks in my mind as to depth and the requirement for forced ventilation in the UK regs.

vindicated,

I don't know what your game is, if you are a student or just someone who doesn't know much about their job.

Either way, questions such as this can ONLY be answered properly if the people doing your job for you know where on the planet you are.

Get a clue!!!!!!!!!! Maybe do some independent research before coming to the well again. It might make you look less foolish, and less lazy!

The top of a flagpole can be classed as a confined space, requiring an entry permit. So the answer is "no".

Yes, the depth requirement is if the area has enough depth to get you in really DEEP S**T a pre-entry conference is in order followed by a confined space entry permit.

This holds true at 100% of the plants I work at.

In short - our shop safety manual defines Confined Space as:

A space large enough to bodily enter it.

A space where ingress/egress is limited or restricted.

A space in which retrieval of an injured/unconscious person would be limited/restricted/difficult.

Yes confined spaces permit is required while entering in dangerous areas and even in depths. Even if any accident or emergency occurs, confined space services are provided be rescuers.
