Super Premium Efficiency (NEMA) VS EI3 Premium Efficiency

07/15/2011 12:35 PM

On Paper, efficiency of super premium motors are more effective when compared to IE3 premium efficiency motors.

The difference in efficiency is about 1% and on lower hp rating i have seen up to 1.3%.

Is this difference in efficiency reflected on paper real? Are the two efficiencies calculated under the same procedure?

Extra question:

Is reliability really part of the specs for both Super premium (NEMA) and IE3?

You have to assume that what ever is printed on paper is real, and if there is any reason for doubt then you should come up with facts and not with a ballet paper question.

What is second procedure of efficiency calculation that is known to the rest of world?

Extra question can be be answered by those two standard itself just by reading them.

Good point Rakesh,

That is part of the reason i put the question here. To see if others have found " any reason for doubt."

Thanks for your input
