Simatic S5 PLC's

07/17/2011 11:58 PM

Hi Guys,

I've come across a situation in a 100U plc where in the Program documentation, it has a

Block, namely OB34, yet when I do a block transfer from the PLC, or interrogate the directory, there is no sign of it..! Am I right in thinking that that particular block, isn't in the PLC, or is it a block with special attributes that prevent it's being read...??

Norm.

From the book...

The CPU constantly checks the status of the battery in the power supply. If a battery fails (BAU), OB34 is processed before every cycle until the battery is replaced. You can program the reaction of the programmable controller to battery failure in OB34. If OB34 is not programmed, there is no reaction.

It sounds like it hasn't been used in your program.
