Light weight miniature 12-15 psi. fuel pump

04/17/2007 10:31 AM

Hello Folks,

Hobby project I am looking for a lead or web site for a light weight miniature 12-15 psi. pump which powered by any combination of 6, 9 to12 volt batteries. Flow capacity around 8 oz.'s in approximately 4 minutes. It will be used to pressurize a radio control model engine's fuel system. Fuel is 40% nitro methane, 44% methanol and 16% oil. I do not expect the pump to last to long if a diaphragm as the fuel will degrade it. Thank you in advance.

Mike

How about a windshield washer pump from a car. Would that be small enough. they work off of 12 volts

The 12 volt car pump will draw far too much current for this application.

I suggest you go to the model craft community. Drill here.

You can look for diaphragm pumps used for solvent ink pumping in printing machine in 9/12V range they will pump higher but pressure can reduce with a tiny regulators and can with stand all corresive affluents from fuel theses are also easily available , thank you
