How to Step Up Voltage at High Frequency

07/22/2011 5:39 AM

I want to step up voltage at high frequency ofthe order of 100's of KHz.

Can anybody help me on stepping up voltage at sich high freqency.

as far as i know all our machines transformers motors generators are manufactured to work in 50 hz in india so the frequency always needs to be set at 50 hz otherwise in india.................but there culd me a different frequency set in another country.............thus if u would changeover to 100 freq instead of 50...........this frequency would change the value of inductance or capacitance thus changing the vector group in the transformer may result in abrupt operation..............so freq change i guess cannot be appreciated

not change 50hz to 10o hz it is 100's of khz

it is possible

yaa i know that i cannot use transformer to serve my purpose.

Is their any way by which i can step up voltage at such high frequency of 100's of KHz

SWitch mode power supply with push pull topology is what you need.

Look into toroidal air core transformers... They are used in VHF (Very High Frequency) devices.

Transformers worked for Marconi from 10 kHz up to many MHz.

we have this project before turning dc voltage 12v and steeping it up to 75v...the unsure part is the frequency coz we dont have any device available to monitor the frequency...but to my guess it was approximately the same with the dynamo's speed...the dynamo was our say "pulsator"...and finally we tried it ourselves and the current flowing in it is really nasty...

Do you have some connection with the original post (vbhore)? If so, confusion reigns, because you are talking about stepping up DC voltage and he was writing AC
