Test no, simulate yes

Venu,

There are several 3D CAD software programs. They all have good points and bad points.

Some are much better for generating parts that are molded or cast. Others are better for large assemblies.

Some of the programs have simplified FEA built into them. For full blown FEA it costs more.

Movement of parts can be simulated. Interferences can be detected.

Each program will crash (computer stops working) from time to time.

If you're going from hand drawings to the 3D design world, it will take several months.

If you're going from the 2D CAD world to the 3D design world a person should be productive in a few weeks.

Keep in mind that in the 3D design world everything is perfect. What is produced will not be perfect. Keep in mind tolerances.

Having a good IT person is very helpful.

I have worked on 4 different 3D cad programs. SolidWorks, ProE, Inventor and NX.

I suggest that you communicate your needs to 2 or 3 local vendors of 3D cad software.

Thank you for your answer,

I know little about PRO-E, the soft ware I saw it is used for 3-D modeling and asslying, but is it any option is there in pro-e soft ware to make the movements of parts, like linear and rotary actuators and see the motion of respective parts which are connected to it.

Just help me

Thank u,

Venu

Yes.

Looks like they are going through a name change.

Here's a link.

Hi venu, I'm afraid ozzb is right. Still, you could try DraftSight by Dassault Systems for free, and from the same guys/SolidWorks there's e-draft. For test it takes a full blown software package with Cosmos, Comsol, etc.

Hope I helped, good hunting.

You might want to have a look at BrlCAD, from the US Army Ballistics Research Laboratory, http://brlcad.org/

Basically, a free, Open Source solution designed to do exactly what you are trying to accomplish...
