Does any one know of a Conformal Coat that meets or comes close to the following requirements

Here are the conformal requirements "wish list" :

The underlined ones are the current

Flexible/Soft

Low water absorption - 0.3%

Repairable

Secondary Heat Cure

High Dielectric Strength

Solder-ability-solder through conformal coat

Curable with both old (Mercury Vapor/Halogen bulbs) UV, and LED UV light sources

10 cc (preferred) - not a must

Durometer - A55 (similar)

Fast Cure time

Solvent Free

Bonds to Circuit boards, polyimide flex, metals, ceramic, glass filled Epoxy substrates

Clear

Viscosity - approx. 2,000 cP

Tensile Strength - 150 psi.

Elongation at Break - 30%

Storage:

Shelf Life of at least 1 year up to 90 deg F.

Thanks for your help

This sounds like an acrylic, except for the flexible/soft part.

MIL-C-46058 used to be the MIL SPEC for conformal coatings. I don't know the current designation.

But I'd do what kramarat suggests.

Take a look at HumiSeal 1B31 or 1 B31 LOC.

It is an acrylic, fairly inexpensive and pretty robust. My only question would be the water absorption - and that would apply to almost any acrylic. Your rework requirement mostly rules out urethane or silicone.

There is/was a mob in Australia called Senson, they have a conformal coating that should do the trick.
