Deciding Capacity of Transfomer

How to decide the capacity of a Transformer for meeting connected loads of A group of Domestic Connection (Colony), Industrial Connection, Commercial Connection based on a list of equipments to be connected as loads with their load details (Capacity (kW) and current(Amperes)

Total up all the load requirement , kW, divide by a power factor 0.7 to give you the tranformer kVA rating, add a reserve margin appropriate for the location, e.g., to provide for future growth in demand.

Not all of the connected loads may be running at once.

1) You may be able to assess the maximum concurrent load, and size for that plus a reserve of say 15% to 25%.

And/or 2) There may be diversity factors that you can apply to multiple loads of similar types.

Local codes may dictate what is permitted along these lines; make sure to consult them. Because of such local variations, it is impractical to give a universal answer.
