Human Effluent Digesters

08/05/2011 7:21 AM

Hi,

I am studying an Msc. In Environmental Sustainability. I am currently completing my dissertation on Biogas. Unfortunately my previous supervisor has left the University and my new suspervisor is expecting a questionnaire to be carried out even though my hand out date is next week.

I would like to move into the Biogas industry. I started the dissertation wanting to know why human effluent was not used in small scales such as in India and China, I now have a better understanding why it won't be applicable.

If there is any question that you feel uncomfortable to answer please do not. I will be so grateful if you could copy and paste this thread and reply with your answers.

Kind Regards,
James Fraher

Current government legislations prevent the manufacturing of these systems

Incorporating additional organic material (garden clippings and municipal solid waste) into the system be a good way of generating more energy

Members on this forum do not like to answer tests for students. It tends to degrade the learning experience of the student. Learn to research for your answers on Google or another web search engine or read it in the corresponding text book.

Sorry. As I am not an engineer, I cannot answer your questions either. Good luck!

My stab at answering your questionaire...

Sorry about your dilemma.

I will not attempt to answer but it does raise the larger question of what your institution is doing in taking on students and not guaranteeing some continuity in the supervisory process.

OK you can't legislate for your Prof. not being killed as ours was, but this increasing tendency of supervisors to swan off into the sunset on a whim is very disruptive to their students progress.
