If I put an AC generator and a can of fuel in a closet, would that not constitute a way to "store an ac supply"?

Along with the observation of Tornado, does water stored behind a dam fitted for hydrogeneration not constitute a way to "store an ac supply"?

Because by definition, ALTERNATING current is changing direction, the current flows one way, then the next. So the source has a charge in one direction, then an opposite charge. A battery can only store one charge, what we call DC, or Direct Current.

But you CAN store electrical energy in batteries and then use electronics to recreate simulated AC, the devices are called "inverters".

It is possible, though not in a battery. There are other ways, here is one. Study this picture carefully.

The water runs downwards, runs the turbo-alternator and generates electricity. When you have surplus power, you supply the electricity to the turbo-alternator which runs as a motor and drives the turbine as a pump, and pumps the water upwards. When you need electricity, go back to the beginning of this paragraph.

There is another one, the Rotaryturboencabulator, which can also do this job. Once you have studied and understood its principle, please come back, most people on CR4 will be happy to help.

Use giant flywheel with optimum ball bearings. Then an alternator to its shaft :)

Essentially it's the instability of the electrolyte in the bipolar battery. Also due to the greenie environazi's the electrolyte has been barred from use as it's not RoHS compliant.

battery with centre tap, I should have made couple of more lines, It looks like two capacitors in series.

It is perfectly possible.

Connect the terminals of the battery to AC supply, preferably through a commutator or at least the brush so that the brush touches the terminals (Note it should not be screwed in/ hard wired)

Connect a 2 pole synchronous motor (note Induction motor won't help) to the battery so that each cycle of the AC the battery to reverses its polarity.

Mot important- Ensure the moment the AC pulse is on positive portion of the sign wave, it is the + terminal of the battery it is brushing against.

- You have now an AC storage battery.

The best portion is the output (unless it is line commuated or rather the Synchronous motor is externally driven) will have whatever Hz you want. Of course for start you have to rotate the motor by hand, and then that Hz (where you left) would drive the SM and that would be the output (till you change the motor RPM)

Note-

1. DO not ask about the efficiency (though as per my estimate it is an over unity device)

2-How do you think the battery stores electricity?
