Auto Aluminum Pipe Bends Schedule 40 for Intake Manifold

I would like to know if their is aluminum sch 40 pipe 6061 that I can bend. It is a 3" piece at a 45 degree bend, 45 degere is approximate. Or does someone make a piese like this?

Why Aluminum?

I would wager you're not going to be able to bend that... it's just going to break. You could probably get something casted, if you can find the right people, and pay the right price. Who knows you might be able to buy something pre-manufactured.

Why Aluminum is for weight and with supercharger keep air as cool as i can get it.

You can buy aluminum U-bends so that you don't have to bend any pipe. I assume that you will be welding anyway, so that's the way to go.

This would be perfect if inside dimension is 50mm or 2".

Tubing is typically dimensioned by OD. So this may be a little small depending on wall thickness. I'd contact them directly.

The close-radius bends that Lyn has illustrated are formed by special means. Ordinary aluminum Sch 40 pipe can be formed into longer radius bends by normal conduit/pipe benders of various types. Can you describe your required geometry more closely?

That is what I will do, I was making a bend at the end of a eight inch piece, now I will make a gradule bend And cut off what I need.

Soft aluminum bends easily especially on a mandrel bender. Do not harden. Of course the wall thickness must be correct for the stretch portion. I did this years ago on a Conrac Bender that was used for bending steel tubing for exhaust headers. The radius of the bend is also critical so you will have to find out the properties of the aluminum to ascertain if it will in fact bend the way you wish. If my memory is correct the radius is usually 3X dia. We were bending steel tubing much tighter than this with little problem.

Pro-Werks Fabrication.

In aluminum.

Perfect for custom exhaust systems or intake manifold fabrication where tight bends are required. May be cut to accommodate any degree of bend necessary. The inner seam requires finish welding after cutting.

They also have mild steel and stainless steel.
