Chimney Curing

08/11/2011 4:20 AM

Dear all,

Please clarify, if the ongoing 100m height chimney construction due to the continuous curing by water the entire concrete surface become wet. The grade of concrete is M30.

It will affect the stability of the Shell?

During the continuous pouring of concrete as well as curing process, the concrete surface become wet for long time even after the curing period of the concrete.

The question is about the stability of the shell with heavy moisture movement?

Increasing of dead load & live load over the wet shells continuously, whether these impact will affect the stiffness of the chimney?
