On the surface, it would seem that advanced technology batteries (esp. auto batteries ) such as are proposed for The Pheonix car and certain auto fleet cars used by some corporations, would be a good thing. Does someone now the trade offs?
The cost and size, the weight, and the need to recharge. The general lack of range available. You can't just stop by a gas station and fill up. Batteries take time to charge up. You have to have a charging station. Think of all those cables trailing around. Live sockets in public places. Electric cars are a stupid idea. Come on in the waters deep.
