2001 Sebring Dash Lights Problem

i own a 2001 sebring lxi with all the options including auto stick. the dash cluster lights don't come on. i've changed the head light-wiper switch. the warning lights do work however. does anyone know the fix?

The obvious thing is to check the fuses. Do you have a wiring diagram? Did they all go out at once? There are other things that are powered and dimmed along with the dash cluster lights. Is the radio light working, or the radio display dimming when the headlights are turned on? Does anything inside the car illuminate when the headlights are turned on? If anything else inside lights up, look at the connection to the dash cluster. Good luck.

Get the schematic (PDF on the web can be free) and use a multimeter ($20 will be good ennough). If you can't do both and don't understand electricity, get a mechanic.

In an instrument cluster you can loose either ground or power, both will make the light not come on
