Eccentric / Concentric Swage Lengths

08/22/2011 6:23 AM

Does anyone know if there is a standard that covers the length and ANSI B16.11 swages? I have some spools that require 2in x 1in eccentric swages. I believe the length of these swages should be 165mm long. I have had fittings sent that are shorter than this dimension. In fact they look like eccentric reducers! Unfortunately, the fab shop where the fittings are is not local to where I am. I intend to radiograph the socket weld to check the insertion length just in case they are indeed eccentric reducers. Any other advise would be appreciated. This is carbon steel pipework, nothing exotic.

ANSI does not have a deminsional standard for swages or laterals. Standard elements yes, just no dimensioinal standards. Need to investigate a manufacture and find the dimensional sizes that you require, and make that your requirement for supplier.
